MWC Barcelona 2026 marked a defining moment for Spectronite. For this edition, we brought physical hardware to the world’s largest mobile industry event, putting our next-generation X-Series microwave radio units in front of operators, partners, and industry leaders from across the globe. The response validated what we have been building toward: a fundamentally new approach to wireless backhaul, and a market that is ready for it.

The conversations on the show floor reflected a shared urgency. Operators are under pressure to expand their networks faster, cover more ground, and do it without inheriting the limitations of legacy infrastructure. Our technology speaks directly to that challenge.

From Lab Validation to the World Stage

This year, Spectronite showcased the first units of the X-Series, engineered for very high capacity over long distances. This was not a concept or a roadmap slide. These were physical production-ready units, the result of years of software-defined innovation now translated into deployable hardware.

Revolutionizing network performance with 20x capacity and unmatched efficiency, the X-Series maximizes network efficiency with 98% utilization of spectrum channels through AI-driven digital carrier aggregation, and ensures 100% of transmit power reaches the antenna, eliminating the energy losses that inflate operating costs across legacy deployments. With 99.999% uptime and a 15-year lifecycle, the platform is built to evolve alongside the networks it serves, without demanding the cycle of hardware replacements that make legacy systems so costly to maintain.

In 2025, the X-Series successfully completed the Golden Sample test with O₂ Telefónica, one of Europe’s leading telecommunications operators, confirming its ability to deliver fiber-like capacity, exceptional spectral efficiency, and seamless integration into existing transport environments. That validation gives operators the confidence to move quickly and the assurance that they are committing to a proven platform.

“We are introducing an innovative radio that helps operators migrate from their legacy infrastructure toward next-generation wireless backhaul. We bring superior capacity to operators who need to expand their networks, create very high capacity backbones, and either expand their 4G coverage or deploy 5G.”

Volume production is now targeted for summer 2026, with a selected group of operators who are positioned to take the lead in transforming their microwave infrastructure. These are the operators who understand that the next phase of connectivity growth demands a smarter, more efficient transport layer, and who are ready to move.

Connecting the Markets That Need It Most

The interest at MWC Barcelona was global, but the markets where our impact will be most immediate are clear. Operators in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and the South Pacific face some of the most complex deployment environments in the world: long distances, fragmented spectrum, power-limited sites, and skyrocketing demand for 4G and 5G coverage in areas that traditional infrastructure cannot efficiently reach.

Spectronite was built for precisely these conditions. The X-Series enables links of 50km and more, reduces power consumption per transported bit by over 80%, and delivers AI-driven control that adapts in real time to shifting network demands. For operators managing power-constrained sites in remote or underserved areas, that combination of reach, efficiency, and autonomy changes the deployment calculus entirely. Scaling no longer means replicating the cost and complexity of what came before.

“The conversations we had in Barcelona confirmed the direction we are heading. Operators are not looking for more of the same. They are looking for a genuinely better path forward, one that unlocks capacity, reduces energy burden, and supports the long-term evolution of their networks. That is exactly what we are delivering.”

– Grégory Pernot, CCO, Spectronite

A Milestone on the Path to Volume

MWC Barcelona 2026 was more than an exhibition for Spectronite. It was the moment we moved from technology story to market reality. With physical X-Series units on the floor, Golden Sample validation from O₂ Telefónica on record, and volume production approaching, the momentum behind our platform is tangible.

We enter this next phase with a clear focus: working alongside a select group of operators to bring next-generation wireless backhaul into active deployment. Every conversation in Barcelona was a step toward networks that are faster, more efficient, and built to evolve.

Looking Ahead

We leave Barcelona with more than positive conversations. The engagement we experienced throughout the week reinforced our belief that the wireless backhaul industry is at an inflection point, and that Spectronite is uniquely positioned to lead it.

Thank you to every operator, partner, and visitor who stopped by to engage with our technology and share their perspective. The work ahead is significant, and we are committed to delivering on what we started in Barcelona. We look forward to continuing these conversations and building the next generation of wireless backhaul together.
